Baltimore Beyond Plastic was founded in 2016 by two Baltimore City Public School students. Now, 4 years later, our group is working to build a strong student network from across Baltimore City in the fight to hold people accountable for how their participation in single-use plastic culture is impacting our health and the health of our global community, by trashing our oceans and contributing to climate change.
Our goal is to reduce plastic pollution in Baltimore while empowering the youth voice, a demographic that is frequently underrepresented in our city and across the world.
Here's how we planned on accomplishing this:

- work with other organizations in order to help pass legislation that is environmentally centered
- Styrofoam Bans
- Plastic Bag Bans
- Zero Waste Legislation
- peer-to-peer outreach
- Network with other youth in Baltimore City and include them in the conversation and encourage their participation
- Partnering with other groups to complete community trash cleanups
- Engage others through hosting trainings and events
